Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Trung - Ninh Binh (L)
Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel and begin a scenic journey of approximately 2–2.5 hours to Ninh Binh Province.
Upon arrival, visit Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, the first capital of Vietnam, dating back to the 10th century. Explore the historic temples dedicated to Dinh Tien Hoang and the Le Dynasty kings, and learn about this important period in Vietnamese history. After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, continue to Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Embark on a relaxing sampan boat trip through a breathtaking landscape of limestone karsts, winding rivers, and mystical caves. As you cruise along the peaceful waterways, you will pass through a series of natural caves surrounded by dramatic mountains and lush greenery. The experience lasts around 2–3 hours and is rowed by local boatmen. After the excursion, transfer to Tam Coc for check-in and overnight stay.
Day 2: Tam Coc - Mua Cave - Hanoi (B)
After breakfast, meet your guide and begin exploring Tam Coc.
· Start with a visit to Bich Dong Pagoda, an ancient three-tier cave pagoda set against a limestone mountain. Climb the stone steps to explore its tranquil setting and enjoy scenic views from the upper levels.
· Continue with a sampan boat ride along the river through the picturesque landscape of Tam Coc, a stunning area of karst mountains rising above lush rice fields. Often referred to as “Halong Bay on land,” this region offers a peaceful and scenic experience. Along the way, pass through three natural caves—giving Tam Coc its name, which means “three caves” in Vietnamese. Depending on the season, you may see local farmers working in the fields. After the boat trip, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
· In the afternoon, visit Mua Cave. Climb a series of stone steps to reach the viewpoint at the top, where you will be rewarded with panoramic views over Tam Coc’s rice fields and river—one of the most iconic landscapes in northern Vietnam. Transfer back to Hanoi.
