1. Bangkok
Stay
About the destination: Bangkok, one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan cities, is the capital of Thailand. Bangkok is hot and crowded, but it's fairly clean and offers lots of fun things to do. Bangkok has great shopping, plenty of culture, amazing temples, delicious food and a decent art scene. Most of Bangkok's sights are concentrated on the island of Rattanakosin, often referred to as the Old City. The Grand Palace is the absolute must see site. The Grand Palace complex also houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Phra Keow, the most sacred Buddhist temple. Other famous temples in Bangkok are the Wat Pho and Wat Arun temples. Bangkok is a great place for shopping. There are many shops, shopping centers and markets to satisfy every wish. The nightlife scene in Bangkok is as varied as the city itself, from beer bars to exclusive clubs, night shopping markets, discos to hippie parties. Bangkok is a large sprawling metropolis, noisy and crowded yet peaceful and delicate. It is one of the world’s top destinations that one has to visit at least once in life.

Stay
About the destination: The beach resort on the west coast of the Gulf of Siam is for a rather quiet beach holiday. A trip from Bangkok takes only 3 to 4 hours (about 180 km in a south-westerly direction), especially on the weekends also local families enjoy the advantages of the region. The balanced climate with a less pronounced summer rainy season makes Cha-Am a year-round destination. There are fine and wide beaches, but the sea is not always clear in the coastal area, jellyfish can occur. In the small town, country-style restaurants serve fresh seafood and Thai cuisine, for the daily needs there are small shops and supermarkets.

5. Ban Krut
Stay
About the destination: Ban Krut is a beautiful little quaint town filled with miles and miles of clean golden beaches that are barely used other than by the local fisherman. We were told by one local that it is one of few beach destinations that has perfect feng shui in terms of its layout. You can stand in the middle of Baan Grood Beach and when you look right, there is an empty beach as far as you can see and when you look left there is more empty beach which is only interrupted by the much loved Golden Buddha and Wat Thang Sai Temple that sits up on the Thong Chai Mountain overlooking the town. The local town has a good selection of local restaurants which also double up as bars but tend not to open too late. Most of these restaurants are offering local Thai food which is very good and very cheap but more recently a few restaurants have opened up offering international food.

About the destination: With 200 kilometers of coastline, Chumphon features many beautiful and desolate beaches as well as some of the best diving and snorkeling on the gulf coast. Chumphon province is located half way down the Isthmus of Kra, the narrow body of land flanked by Andaman Sea on the west and the Gulf of Thailand on the East; western Chumphon borders Myanmar, while the east of the province consist of more than 200 kilometers of coastline with numerous beaches that are infrequently visited by tourists. Consequently, Chumphon is an ideal destination for those who are seeking relaxation in a natural and quiet atmosphere. Chumphon city, the capital of the province, is the gateway to other southern provinces as well as the islands in the Gulf of Thailand, particularly Koh Tao. While the area isn’t overrun with tourists there are still many opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, yachting, paragliding, diving, and snorkeling. Historical documents state that Chumphon was continuously inhabited by various communities since the pre-historic period, especially in the area along the banks of the Tha Taphao River. Chumphon was also one of the leading trading centers of Siam (Thailand prior to the Second World War). As a frontier city, Chumphon is believed to have derived its name from Chumnumphon, which means the accumulation of forces. Whenever there were movements of the army, the soldiers would gather their forces here in this province. Other sources argue that the name is derived from a local plant named Maduea Chumphon, which is abundant in this area. This plant has become a symbol of Chumphon Province. Chumphon city, the capital of Chumphon province, is the gateway to Thailand’s southern provinces as well as the islands in the Gulf of Thailand, particularly Koh Tao. With more than 200 kilometers of coastline featuring numerous unspoiled beaches, Chumphon is an ideal destination for those who are seeking relaxation in a natural and quiet atmosphere and wish to enjoy such activities as sunbathing, swimming, yachting, paragliding, diving, and snorkeling.

About the destination: Beautiful sandstone and mudstone rocks rise about 300–600 m above sea level. The park is traversed by a limestone mountain range from north to south with a high point of 950 m. This mountain range is hit by monsoon rain coming from both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, which makes it among Thailand's wettest regions with an annual rain fall of 3,500 mm.[citation needed] Heavy rainfall and falling leaves led to the erosion of the limestone rocks and created the significant karst formations seen today.
