About the destination: Holbox ("black hole" in Yucatec Maya) is an island in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, located on the north coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is approximately 41.84 kilometres (26.00 miles) long and 1.5 kilometres (0.9 miles) wide, and it is separated from the mainland by 10 km of shallow lagoon that is home to flamingos, pelicans and other rich birdlife. Holbox Island is part of the Municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas and also part of the Yum-Balam Biosphere Reserve. Not yet heavily touristed, the island's main industry is fishing. However, the island is developing a growing tourist industry in the form of whale shark viewing. Lobster is the main product of this fishing, and many of the dishes made on the island center around lobster or other seafood.

The island is part of one of the ten municipalities of the State of Quintana Roo and is located thirteen kilometers from the city of Cancun, the main tourist hub of the region. Isla Mujeres is a quaint and charming island, located across the bay from Cancun. His warm and clear waters are the perfect home for dolphins and turtles and swim with them is one of the most attractive activities. This is a place with history and spectacular beaches. On the southern tip of the island there are traces of a Mayan temple. The island became world famous in the 70s, when the Cave of the Sleeping Sharks was presented to the world by the famous Mexican oceanographer Ramón Bravo. The island is also known for its beautiful underwater landscapes, excellent sites for snorkeling and diving, and the rich biodiversity offered. Another interesting attraction of the island is the park and beach club "El Garrafon" where you can snorkel, snuba, sea trek, kayak among others. A little later in this park there is a small area dedicated to Ixchel Arquelogica.

About the destination: Cozumel is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, opposite Playa del Carmen, and close to the Yucatán Channel. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel. The islands belongs to Cozumel Municipality of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. There are quite a few beach clubs that offer snorkeling and the main attractions are the reefs offshore and the multiple dive shops. Cozumel also offers several Mayan archaeological sites. The most extensive vestiges are those at "San Gervasio", an inland site a few miles north of the "Carretera Transversal" highway. Another site is located near the village of El Cedral, inland from the "Carretera Costera Sur" highway. In Punta Sur Park, at the southern tip of the island, there is the "El Caracol" temple, believed to have been used as a lighthouse by the Mayans.
