This short tour takes you to the enchanting west of Panama. This part of the country is full of fascinating natural beauty. Experience a picturesque mountain world, a national park with impressive flora and fauna, cloud forests and the island paradise of Bocas del Toro on this trip.

Day 1: Sixaola/Guabito - Almirante - Bocas del Toro

The driver will be waiting to pick you up in Guabito. From there, you will travel to the harbour town of Almirante. A water taxi will then take you to Isla Colón, the main island of the Bocas del Toro archipelago, in around 30 minutes. Bocas del Toro consists of idyllic islands surrounded by the clear, fish-rich waters of the Caribbean. There are cosy bars, restaurants and souvenir shops on the main island of Colón. The relaxed, Caribbean atmosphere and the beautiful beaches invite you to relax and snorkel. On arrival, transfer to the hotel in Bocas Town, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Bocas del Toro - boat trip to Red Frog Beach (B)

Today you will discover the marvellous island world of Bocas del Toro! You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and set off on a boat tour. Keep an eye out for water birds! Continue to Coral Cay, a snorkelling paradise for all ages. Local restaurants built on stilts over the water offer fresh seafood (not included). Afterwards, head to Isla Bastimentos, which is surrounded by mangroves and mostly covered by unspoilt jungle. The island can only be reached by boat. Here lies the famous ‘Red Frog Beach’, named after the red poison dart frogs. Explore the hiking trails or simply relax on the beach and enjoy nature. Return to the main island in the afternoon.

Day 3: Bocas del Toro - Chiriqui Grande - Boquete (B)

After breakfast, you leave the islands of Bocas del Toro. The water taxi will take you back to the mainland to Chiriqui Grande in around 45 minutes. Your driver will be waiting for you there to take you to the neighbouring province of Chiriquí. Your destination is the mountain village of Boquete, around 60 kilometres from the border with Costa Rica. Nestled in the green mountain landscapes of Panama, the climate here is cooler than in the plains. The often fine drizzle, called ‘bajareque’ by the locals, gives Boquete its nickname ‘Valley of Eternal Spring’.

Day 4: Boquete - hike and coffee tour (B, L)

In the morning, a local tour guide will pick you up at the hotel and accompany you on a 4-hour hike through the green plateaus of Boquete. You will discover the tropical flora and fauna, including numerous bird species, coatis, sloths and monkeys. The region also impresses with wild orchids and exotic plants. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the world of coffee. On a local finca, you will learn more about the cultivation and processing of the famous Geisha coffee, which is prized worldwide for its top quality. A coffee tasting rounds off the visit.
