Day 1: MEDAN – BOHOROK (A)
Arrive at Airport (suggested latest at noon), meet and greet then drive north-westward for about 5 hours to Bohorok. En route passing through several small towns followed by vast view of rubber and oil palm plantations with some countryside landscape. Stop to see palm oil plantation from outside, also stop to see local market in Kuala. Arrive in Bohorok, check-in at hotel. Dinner provided at the hotel.
Day 2: BOHOROK, ORANG UTAN AUSFLUG – MEDAN (F/A)
Start on a 3 hours jungle trekking where you can see the semi or wild Orangutans. Steep, slopes and dense vegetation will bring you to the excitement of the Sumatra rainforest. Here you have the opportunity to see several species of indigenous flora and fauna. If you are lucky you may encounter Orang Utan, leaf monkey, macaque, gibbons, and abundant bird life. Walkers must be fit and have suitable, large profile shoes. Afterward walk back to hotel and transfer to Medan via rubber and oil-palm plantation road, check in hotel in town. Dinner is provided at the hotel
Day 3: MEDAN – BRASTAGI– SAMOSIR ISLAND (F/A)
Set out for Brastagi, a highland town home of 2 volcanoes: Sinabung & Sibayak with its fresh weather and magnificent mountain scenery. Visit Maria Annai Velangkani Our Lady of Good health - a Catholic Church with unique Indian temple shape. In Brastagi, stop at Taman Alam Lumbini, to visit a Buddhist temple based on the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar. Depart for Parapat – a famous lake resort lies on the east shore of Lake Toba. Enroute visit traditional Karo village. See the slender Sipiso-piso Waterfall drops into the northern tip shore of Lake Toba from hundred meter height. Visit the ancient King’s Palace of Simalungun at Pematang Purba. Proceed to Parapat through the fertile vegetable and fruit farms, pine tree forest and spectacular view of Lake Toba along most part of the journey. From Parapat, leave for Samosir Island, in about 45 mins public ferry ride. Check in hotel.
Day 4: SAMOSIR ISLAND AUSFLUG (F/A)
After breakfast we will start the discovery tour of Samosir Tour by private boat. Board a boat from hotel pier and stop at pier at Tomok village to see the Tomb of King Sidabutar and Batak Toba Village at Tomok. Then board the boat again and hop to Ambarita, a traditional village with ancient megalithic furniture in front of the traditional house. From Ambarita we walk back to hotel on foot passing through villages and local schools to have a look at Batak people daily activities. The leisurely walk takes about one hour or more, depending on how many stops are made along the walk.
Day 5: SAMOSIR – PARAPAT – MEDAN (F/A)
Back to Parapat by public ferry then depart for Medan, en route, passing rubber, oil palm plantations, paddy terraces and small towns such as Pematang Siantar and Tebing Tinggi. By mid day in Medan city tour to explore the historical city of Medan with visit to Sultan Palace, which is also known as “The Yellow Palace” (yellow is typical for Royal Malay constructions), the palace is also known Maimoon. the palace was established in 1888. The next stop is to Chinese Temple of East Mountain, a Mahayana Buddhism Temple which portrays the cultural heritage of Chinese descendants in Medan. Last stop will be at Tjong A Fie Mansion, a two-story mansion, which was built by Tjong A Fie, a Hakka merchant who came to own much of the land in Medan through his plantations. Dinner and check in hotel.
Day 6: MEDAN, ABREISE (F)
Free on own activities until time to be transferred to airport for departure.
Based on current traffic clients must leave hotel for apt 4 hours before flight. We suggest to arrange afternoon flight out of Medan. TIP: Also possible to stay at a hotel in Kuala Namu Airport area to cut short transfer time, hotel will provide free shuttle-transfers. Please ask us for details.
